Our story

Sound Planning was established in 1970 in Detroit, Michigan. The original principals, David Armstrong Sr. and Pete Baird, had backgrounds in broadcasting, engineering, and construction. From the beginning the focus of Sound Planning was AV systems integration for businesses, houses of worship, and government.

Sound Planning began operations in South Florida in 1972 and Chicago in 1974. In 1997 we expanded to serve Northern Georgia. In 2016 after 10 years of serving as Director of Sound Planning in Florida David Armstrong Jr. moved to Reno NV. In 2017 David Jr. launched Sound Planning’s west coast operation to offer the same level of service, expertise, and professionalism to Northern Nevada and Northern California. We bring over 65 years of experience to these locations.

 We intend to stay in business for the long term. We have seen competitors come and go because of a lack of customer satisfaction. We know that we cannot afford to have unhappy customers and we will strive to make sure you receive the finest service.
